Then

Arrived in unit:  Aug. 1967 -  PFC

Departed unit:   May 1968  -  Sp-4

Duties in unit:  Gunner, crewchief, lift platoons, Mustangs

Other Assignments:   I started as a gunner, first with the slicks for a month, then the Mustangs.  When there was a shortage of crewchiefs, I was made a crewchief in spite of not even knowing how to change a sparkplug.  Even so, I always cleaned my own M-60 and still have the gas cylinder plug from the last gun I firedI was an MP running convoys with the 1st Division.  I tried to transfer to the infantry, but was sent to aviation instead.

Training:  95B20, Military Police, Fort Gordon, GA

DOS Army:   September 1968, three months early to return to school

  Now

Current Residence:   Spokane, WA

Occupation:   Journalist, publisher and editor

Family:  I’ve been married for thirty years to a woman I met in heaven, Judy.  I have three children and one grandchild who is the center of my universe.

Hobbies:  I enjoy training English Springer and Cocker Spaniels, upland bird hunting, gardening, inline skating, weight lifting, reading, and side-by-side shotguns.

Remarks:  I am now, always have been, and always will be a Mustang.
