Arrived in unit:  Aug. 1969  - WO

Departed unit:   Dec. 1970  - CW-2

Duties in unit:  Pilot, Lift platoon, Mustangs.  I flew with the 1st Lift from Aug 1969 to Feb 1970, then joined the Mustangs as Mustang 55.  I roomed with Don Libby in BN compound, we’d moved there after the 334th moved to Phu Loi.  In Oct 1970 the 68th was standing down and I transferred to the 118th Bandits.

Other Assignments:  I left Vietnam and active duty on an early out in Dec 1970.  But the Army had released too many pilots too early, and I was recalled in Dec 1975.  I flew out of Ft Hood Texas until Dec 1977.

Training:   Rotary Wing pilot, Ft. Rucker

DOS Army:  Dec 1970 the first time; Dec 1977 for good.

Current Residence:   Lakeland , Florida  

Occupation:   I worked for the Lakeland Electric Dept for 25 years designing lighting for streets and recreational fields.  I retired in Aug 2002 and am loving it. 

Family:   My wife Pam and I have been married for 30 years.  My son Ian, 23 is a Marine LCpl. and served in Iraq last year.   

Hobbies:   Harleys and flying.  I am very involved with the Florida chapter of VHPA.  We do about 12-15 events yearly and have a museum in Tampa with a Huey, an OH-6 and an OH-58. 

Remarks:   I am looking forward to seeing everyone in Nashville .  GUNS RULE!
