AIRCRAFT WAS ON A TROOP INSERTION MISSION WITH 5 ARVNS ON BOARD. ON FINAL APPROACH, SMALL BUSHES AND SAPLINGS WERE SEEN IN THE LZ. THE LZ WAS APPROXIMATELY 60 FEET WIDE. THE APPROACH WAS TERMINATED AT A HIGH HOVER AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS CLEARED BY THE CREW TO DESCEND TO AN APPROXIMATE 6 TO 10 FOOT HOVER. AT THIS TIME THE, THE MAIN ROTOR BLADE STRUCK A SMALL SAPLING APPROXIMATELY ONE INCH IN DIAMETER. THE TOOPS DEPARTED THE AIRCRAFT AND IT RETURNED TO BASE. ON POST FLIGHT, DAMAGE TO THE MAIN ROTOR BLADES WAS FOUND.\\
