History of the Alpha Omega Entertainment Group- by Lionel
Duncombe
Lionel Troy and the Alpha
Omega Vietnam 1968-72. Lionel Troy and the Alpha Omega's. Lionel was
the leader of an Australian show-group in Vietnam called, Alpha Omega. A
professional group of musicians and singers who toured Vietnam at various
times from 1968-1972. They were not a USO outfit. The group lived off the
local economy. Unlike the official USO entertainers in Vietnam, my group
stayed in Vietnam for up to a year at a time. They traveled all over the
Nam, from the DMZ to the Delta, by air and by road, often without a military
escort. Lionel Duncombe (Stage Name - Lionel Troy) his current Email

This show was a non stop two hours of soul, funk, rock and roll, gags,
and pretty girls. We even did a fake strip tease with Glenys peeling off
layer after layer of her cloths to the tune of hit the Road Jack. She
had so many thin layers of clothing on that she never did get naked
which the troops were hoping for. In the end they knew she was sending
them up and without exception they loved her act.
