Mesothelioma,
a cancer of the lining of the
lung, is caused by exposure to
asbestos. Many veterans were
exposed to asbestos during their
time in the military. Because of
long dormancy periods,
mesothelioma and other
asbestos-related diseases can
remain undetected for over a
decade before the patient shows
any signs of illness. An
exposure of as little as one or
two months can result in a mesothelioma
diagnosis 30
or 40 years later.
|
|
|
Asbestos.com is committed to providing the latest, up-to-date information to
our visitors in the hopes of spreading awareness about the dangers of
asbestos cancer. This website offers a one-stop resource on all asbestos
issues ranging from occupational exposure to mesothelioma treatment options.
The Mesothelioma Center
provides a
complete list of occupations, ships, and shipyards that could have
put our Veterans at risk for developing asbestos-related diseases.
